education at its heart

A vast amount of effort has been made to ensure that Adamstown’s youngest citizens are very well catered for. The first two primary schools, Adamstown Educate Together and St. John the Evangelist, Adamstown, commenced classes in September 2007. In addition, Adamstown Community College, the secondary school operated by County of Dublin VEC, opened in September 2009. The first crèche, operated by Giraffe in Adamstown Castle opened in 2007.

transport network

One of the major factors which contributed to Adamstown’s selection as Ireland’s first ever Strategic Development Zone was its location beside national and suburban rail and road networks.

Adamstown benefits from a brand new integrated transport system comprising a railway station, opened in April 2007, which can bring commuters to Heuston Station in just 15 minutes. It also benefits from a new Quality bus Corridor, linking the 25b bus service directly from Adamstown rail station to Dublin City Centre via grange Castle business Park.

There is a new road network linking Adamstown via the outer ring road to the N4, the N7 and onto the M50 orbital motorway. There are also convenient cycle and pedestrian routes running right through the heart of Adamstown.

Over the past two decades, Castlethorn Construction has developed a well-earned reputation for exceptional quality craftsmanship. We passionately believe that the final verdict on our developments can only be passed when the entire project has been completed and when our new homes become new communities.

Our quest for perfection involves not just the actual units that we build, but the complementary quality of the landscaping and overall finishing which typifies a Castlethorn development. We also believe that quality is apparent in the selection of our sites. We continue to provide homes in areas which are rich in physical and social amenities and which reflect the needs of today’s homeowners.

Castlethorn is responsible for many of the best known developments in the Irish market, including:

  • Creation of a brand new town at Adamstown, in response to a major strategic planning initiative from the Irish government.
  • Development of the Dundrum Town Centre, Ireland’s most prestigious retail centre, which introduced many of the world’s top retailers to the country for the first time.
  • Creation of a unique development at Killeen Castle, including a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
